VegTech needed a modern ERP solution

VegTech faced challenges with its existing ERP system, where critical financial transactions were missing, limiting the ability to perform in‑depth analyses—something essential for continued development and growth.

VegTech and NAB – A successful IT transformation

VegTech was founded in 1987 in Vislanda, Småland, and has since grown to become the leading provider of vegetation technology in the Nordic region. With a dedicated team of experts, VegTech helps customers within construction, real estate, and the public sector bring their green visions to life. Their nature‑based solutions contribute to stormwater management and biodiversity on rooftops and ground areas in urban environments. Today, VegTech has approximately 65 employees and annual revenue of SEK 185 million.

VegTech faced challenges with its existing ERP system, where critical financial transactions were missing, limiting the ability to perform in‑depth analyses. In addition, many years had passed since processes were last updated and streamlined. As the company wanted to invest more in IT, the need for a comprehensive change became clear.

Choosing NAB

Once the decision to replace the ERP system had been made, VegTech began exploring its options within its existing IT network. “It was a combination of recommendations and online research that led us to choose NAB,” says Johan Ljungberg, CEO of VegTech.

VegTech did not only want to find a system recommended by industry experts, but also the right consultants to lead the project. “One key requirement for us was to find consultants who were geographically close, so we would have the opportunity to meet in person a few times during the course of the project.”

The collaboration with NAB

The collaboration began with a preliminary study that laid the foundation for a clear and reliable project plan. The plan was divided into sprints tailored to VegTech’s seasonal operations, which was crucial for staying on schedule.

“Throughout the project, we’ve had a great dialogue with NAB, and we’ve been able to turn things over from different angles so that the system solution turned out really well,” says Johan Ljungberg.

One factor behind the project’s success was that it was clearly scoped and built based on standard solutions, enabling a smooth implementation and minimizing complexity. By clearly defining which parts were included in the project and which could be handled in later phases, an efficient and structured process was ensured. Since the work was carried out in fixed‑price sprints, predictability and a clear structure were maintained throughout the project.

After go‑live support, VegTech and NAB have planned a new sprint together to further streamline processes and ensure that the system continues to support the needs of the business.

Long‑term value

VegTech sees the choice of Business Central as a long‑term solution, as the system is continuously updated and ensures that the company stays at the forefront of the latest IT developments, such as AI.

“It also places demands on us as users to continuously work on developing our internal processes in order to achieve maximum efficiency,” Johan Ljungberg concludes.
