Preview Posting in Business Central

With the Preview Posting feature, you can review transactions and see how they will appear before you actually post them. This way, you can avoid incorrect postings and potential corrections.

Here’s how to do it:

When you are on an invoice, click on Posting in the menu – then select Preview Posting. In the new window, you can see which transactions will be created if you were to post the invoice as it is. By clicking on the numbers under Number of Transactions, you can also analyze further regarding dates, accounting accounts, and other values.

It’s perfect to use when you’re unsure if your posted invoice will create its transactions in the system correctly. By using preview posting, you can save time by avoiding the need to reverse your invoices.
